Are You the Next Food Network Star?

Clik here to view.

If Guy can do it, so can you.

Guy Fieri was first “discovered” on “The Next Food Network Star” reality TV show and now the spiky-hair, bottle-blond cook is one of the hottest personalities in the food world.

While the culinary chops of the “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” host may be open to debate - this is a dude who very proudly serves a “Jackass Roll” consisting of pulled pork, avocado and French fries at his Tex Wasabi’s restaurants - Fieri has been laughing his way to the bank ever since.

Fieri has numerous endorsement deals  including a line of cutlery called - and we’re not making this up -  Knuckle Sandwich Series Knives. And he is currently the host of the NBC game show “Minute to Win It” where people do goofy things like stacking Ding Dongs on their foreheads for cold hard cash.

(Let’s all take a moment to weep for today’s youth. Where is Julia Child when you need her?)

Casting is currently underway for 2011 season of “The Next Food Network Star.”

Chefs, line cooks, home cooks, caterers and culinary enthusiasts are welcome to attend an open casting call from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 31 at Loews Philadelphia Hotel, 1200 Market St., Philadelphia.

Producers say they have “found some wonderful people from Philly in previous seasons and can’t wait to meet more potential candidates.”

The main requirements are energy and enthusiasm, passion for cooking, food knowledge and a “personality that pops.”

(So that means either you channel your best Fieri or swallow some Beano before eating.)

Bring two recent photos, a resume and a completed application that can be found at www.FoodNetwork.com/star.
